Gold-standard sport at Queen’s Park
Sport is a big part of life at Queen’s Park. We are proud to hold the Gold School Games Mark, recognising the strength of our sporting provision and our commitment to giving children exceptional opportunities to be active, compete, represent their school and discover sports they love.
Our sporting success has also been recognised beyond the school gates. Brighton & Hove Albion Foundation chose Queen’s Park as a partner because of the strength of our sporting provision and our commitment to sport. Through this exciting partnership, Albion coaches work directly with our children, bringing the expertise and inspiration of our local Premier League club into school and creating even more opportunities for our pupils.
Our partnership has included specialist coaching, football teams and clubs, competitions, health and wellbeing opportunities and memorable experiences connected to the club. The Foundation has also celebrated the development of our young footballers, with our girls’ team receiving a special visit from Albion players Vicky Losada and Pauline Bremer.
Each year, we celebrate our pupils’ sporting achievements in style with our annual Queen’s Park Sports Awards at the AMEX Stadium – giving children the unforgettable experience of having their effort, talent, teamwork and sporting success recognised at the home of Brighton & Hove Albion.
But at Queen’s Park, sporting excellence isn't only about winning trophies or creating successful teams. We want every child to find something that makes them want to get moving. From a child representing Queen’s Park in competition to someone discovering a new sport for the very first time, we want every pupil to experience the confidence, resilience, teamwork, belonging and sheer joy that sport can bring.
We make the most of everything our city has to offer. From our surf lifesaving course on Brighton beach to opportunities at fantastic local facilities such as Yellowave, we take sport beyond the school gates – helping children develop confidence, physical skills and an appreciation of the incredible opportunities available right on their doorstep.
Our Gold School Games Mark and partnership with Brighton & Hove Albion are more than badges of achievement. They are evidence of our determination to give every child a rich, ambitious primary-school experience that reaches far beyond the classroom.
